In response to Google Blocking New Media Journal

New Media Journal is a site blocked by Google because of the following articles:-

1. How has Islam Enriched your Life
   
2. Islam is as Islam Does
   
3. Islam a False Religion

Inside these articles Prophet Muhammad(The last Messenger of God according to Islam) is accused of being a tyrant and a child molester. Moreover verses have been tactfully extracted from the quran out of context to deliver wrong messages. I would request people not to base their opinions based on the opinions of others, but rather study the Quran and the Life of the Prophet Muhammad Themselves(Muhammad, by Martin Lings is my recommendation). Moreover if people think that there are any problems with what the followers of a religion do, it may be cited in a more peaceful & mature manner rather than an accusatory style so that views may be clarified in a peaceful manner.

Articles such as the ones quoted above spur hatred and do more bad than good. The site on one hand claims that "Opinions expressed by contributing writers are expressly their own and may or may not represent the opinions of The New Media Journal, its editorial staff or its publisher. " and on the other has started an anti Google Campaign by maintaining a list of Non Google Search Engines, and spreading out Anti Google T-Shirts under the name of free media. In my Opinion the level of moderation by Google was very necessary & moderate. I fully support what Google did and this incident has only increased my trust in Google.

P.S. If anyones possible responses to this article are hurtful to any party in any way then I suggest you keep your views to yourselves. Only post comments if you have some insightful and most of all something moderate and mature to say.

Get The Facts!!!

Oh and I spent most of yesterday night after coming back websurfing. Also went through the Microsoft Get The Facts site, and found some of the stuff there quite ridiculous. There is a study comparing Windows 2003 with Suse Linux Enterprise server version 9 availible here . The capabilities compared are:-

Directory Server
Certificate Server
Web Server
File Server
Print Server
Networking Server

In most cases apart from that of an FTP server, it declares that the following packages arent Suse Certified or do not come packaged with Suse. In my opinion, it can be assumed that a Web Server on Linux would mean that the administrator has enough sense to download Apache and set it up, rather than declaring that it is a disability of the Linux platform. Another advantage Linux has that is not actually compared is horizontal scalability or clustering which is not actually brought up. I'd rather not go on boasting about my opinion.

Packing up some flab for the winters

Yep You guys got that right! I have four months till I get to Seattle and until then I hope to eat lots and lots of food that I would'nt be able to eat around after October [:(] GOD BLESS CROFTY . I'm doing a great job going out to lots and lots of restaurants and also getting my pockets emptied in the process. Oh and now that Azi's gone, Rappie and I are coming up with groundbreaking Chussi's & Theories.

Desperately in need of a Digital Camera

Too many things are happening nowadays. Last days at home, meeting freinds and stuff. People coming and going. Stuff I'd love to remember one day. But the big downside is that I dont have a digital camera. Finalized some things with someone who doesnt exist and will hopefully spend some time with my new imaginary friend before going to the states. Today we even went out and had dinner together. <-- Okay this is one of the main reasons why I need that camera. I'm not nuts.

Anyways Azi is coming from Pindi tomorrow for a job interview and he'll bunk at my place. But hey, maybe I'll be able to take my brothers video camera and capture this, not such a bad idea. Anyways I have a considerable amount of homework to do before starting off with the imaginary person who doesnt exist and with whom I didnt have a conversation this night. Goodbye GIK :( 'sob

Okay today was the last trip in along with friends in a Panther from GIK to Lahore. I've come back home to get a passport corrected, then it'll be back to GIK on a friends car till convocation where I'll wait for my parents to come pick me up.
