In response to Google Blocking New Media Journal

New Media Journal is a site blocked by Google because of the following articles:-

1. How has Islam Enriched your Life
   
2. Islam is as Islam Does
   
3. Islam a False Religion

Inside these articles Prophet Muhammad(The last Messenger of God according to Islam) is accused of being a tyrant and a child molester. Moreover verses have been tactfully extracted from the quran out of context to deliver wrong messages. I would request people not to base their opinions based on the opinions of others, but rather study the Quran and the Life of the Prophet Muhammad Themselves(Muhammad, by Martin Lings is my recommendation). Moreover if people think that there are any problems with what the followers of a religion do, it may be cited in a more peaceful & mature manner rather than an accusatory style so that views may be clarified in a peaceful manner.

Articles such as the ones quoted above spur hatred and do more bad than good. The site on one hand claims that "Opinions expressed by contributing writers are expressly their own and may or may not represent the opinions of The New Media Journal, its editorial staff or its publisher. " and on the other has started an anti Google Campaign by maintaining a list of Non Google Search Engines, and spreading out Anti Google T-Shirts under the name of free media. In my Opinion the level of moderation by Google was very necessary & moderate. I fully support what Google did and this incident has only increased my trust in Google.

P.S. If anyones possible responses to this article are hurtful to any party in any way then I suggest you keep your views to yourselves. Only post comments if you have some insightful and most of all something moderate and mature to say.

Get The Facts!!!

Oh and I spent most of yesterday night after coming back websurfing. Also went through the Microsoft Get The Facts site, and found some of the stuff there quite ridiculous. There is a study comparing Windows 2003 with Suse Linux Enterprise server version 9 availible here . The capabilities compared are:-

Directory Server
Certificate Server
Web Server
File Server
Print Server
Networking Server

In most cases apart from that of an FTP server, it declares that the following packages arent Suse Certified or do not come packaged with Suse. In my opinion, it can be assumed that a Web Server on Linux would mean that the administrator has enough sense to download Apache and set it up, rather than declaring that it is a disability of the Linux platform. Another advantage Linux has that is not actually compared is horizontal scalability or clustering which is not actually brought up. I'd rather not go on boasting about my opinion.

Packing up some flab for the winters

Yep You guys got that right! I have four months till I get to Seattle and until then I hope to eat lots and lots of food that I would'nt be able to eat around after October [:(] GOD BLESS CROFTY . I'm doing a great job going out to lots and lots of restaurants and also getting my pockets emptied in the process. Oh and now that Azi's gone, Rappie and I are coming up with groundbreaking Chussi's & Theories.

Desperately in need of a Digital Camera

Too many things are happening nowadays. Last days at home, meeting freinds and stuff. People coming and going. Stuff I'd love to remember one day. But the big downside is that I dont have a digital camera. Finalized some things with someone who doesnt exist and will hopefully spend some time with my new imaginary friend before going to the states. Today we even went out and had dinner together. <-- Okay this is one of the main reasons why I need that camera. I'm not nuts.

Anyways Azi is coming from Pindi tomorrow for a job interview and he'll bunk at my place. But hey, maybe I'll be able to take my brothers video camera and capture this, not such a bad idea. Anyways I have a considerable amount of homework to do before starting off with the imaginary person who doesnt exist and with whom I didnt have a conversation this night. Okay until next time, toodles.

P.S. Someone buy me a digital Camera. I wish my blog had more pictures in it.

Goodbye GIK :( 'sob

Okay today was the last trip in along with friends in a Panther from GIK to Lahore. I've come back home to get a passport corrected, then it'll be back to GIK on a friends car till convocation where I'll wait for my parents to come pick me up. Exams finally over and not a thing to do

Yesterday I had my final paper. It wasnt the best of papers but its over. Finally!!!! Right now I'm just listening to songs by Rafi and Kishore, thats what I usually do when I have nothing else to do, spent most of the night with B making dance moves for our upcoming dance vid. Was just bugging Babarman. Aaah this is the life, I cant even dream of graduating and doing a job, its so fun here. Now I'll have to go home and mark my attendance there and after that return and have fun till convocation once I apply for the passport and stuff. After the Convocation I'll be able to put an Engr. in front of my name so I'll have to get used to that so now you guys call me Engr_iqqi :P.

 

I think I'll watch movies tonight with babar man after getting a litre of ice cream. Aaaaah!!!! This is the life. But before that I'll ahve to run around till 5:00 PM around GIKI for clearance. its something thats going to take a while. Anyways until next time see you around. Have writen 50 comments on our yearbook till now. Need to write many more. I think I'll cut down on size to increase throughput. And thats about it for today.

I just came across an awesome keyboard (late 80's) style with really hard clicky keys. Dont you just love tactile response. GIKI never fails to throw you surprises even now. Just a week ago I discovered a well employees think is haunted with Ginns. (Note to self : Must go at night for photo session at haunted well). Another thing I just found out recently is that the mosque next to the guest house was the first structure built in GIK(pretty cool huh) All these years I thought it was logik.

Last paper is tomorrow night and I'm here in the library. Studying sometimes, and sometimes admiring the books I never had the time to read(or couldnt make the effort to). My application for summer semester T.A. ship just got rejected, so the thud factor is still there. They just dont want summer time TA's, they have better full time T.A.'s. Now I'm thinking of spending the last month here before the convocation, going out and making trips in between. It's been a while since the last road trip. Today between study sessions, I had time to check out these awesome tourism books, and I have really cool tourist sites marked on my mental image of the world, hoping that someday I too can go look at some of the most magnificient sites of the world. Trust me you guys dont want a description of everything in this already really descriptive blog. You guys will know when I post from the locations live one day. Inshallah!!!! Right now GIK is preparing for0 Mushi( Gen Pervez Musharraf) to come to our institute and hand out degrees. This place will turn into alcatraz or something. :D. Anyways it was fun, I better head off to some work, take care people.

Satmob is finally over AaaaahhhH!!!!!!! Sigh of releif. Studying for it was like hell, but it is now over. Anyways, recent news is that 3 friends are going to Dubai for MS interviews during this session, Ali Zeeshan Ijaz, Saqib and Usman Ilyas.
