New Year Already!!!!!

When I was a kid, time was so slow. It hardly ever passed. I used to wish that time would pass faster when I was in class. Often I used to doodle or use my notebook as a counter and write the number of seconds left for class to end and write all the numbers backwards.

e.g. 15 mins remain.
15 x 60 = 900

Then I'd start counting backwards,
900,899,898 ... Meanwhile a peculiar old rhyme always used to play incessantly in my head.

900 bottles of beer on the wall
900 bottles of beer you take one down an pass it around
899 bottles of beer on the wall

Quite honestly it still does. Havent found a cure for it yet. But with my head twirling through the ages another year has passed. And I wish you all a Happy New Year. I cant beleive its 2006 already. I kind of adopted this sort of jetlag after I joined University, All of the previous year I went about thinking that it was 2004. At least my subconscious. I even started putting it on exam papers. But now that I'm getting more and more aware of it, I ask someone what year it is before putting it down somewhere. So what makes my subconsious retract to the good old years. 1998-2002 to be specific. Well I guess I was a much secure individual back then. I had prospects. I had a perfect routine. I had it all planned. Well not quite actually. I seriously considered pursuing higher education in Math back then(Inspired by the one and only guru Sir Minhas himself). Right now I want nothing to do at all with Maths. I want to be a novelist(even though the closest I am to writing is this blog), an artist(even though my greatest works are comics, a couple of lame attempts at recording my own[and Basim's] lyrics [Hamziee I miss you so much :_(], some stupid videos, ideas, flashwork, photoshop work that I consider art and thats about it), someone that just goes around dispersing novell ideas, and apart from all of the above, a jack in all trades or a master in a trade that requires me to be a jack in all trades. Doing a task or a job or studying anything in depth makes me yawn. I know this wasnt me a couple of years back, but times change [... or was it people that change].

Now that I've finished this babbling about the garble[I'm using this word for someone special] thats accumulating in my mind, I'd like to point out a site that will be of aid to a lot of bloggers out there, who tired of photobucket would want to add streaming video to their blogs. Yes my friends it is here. Youtube is a service which lets you upload videos with tag words, and you can throw some code in blogger while writing a post, that imbeds a player onto your post. This is actually quite cool. The YouTube site offers a lot of videos. Its a searchable interface and the quality of the stream although not being that great, is more convinient because it loads up in around 5 mins on my internet connection at home. This site is, I repeat is of no use to me or any other GIKIAN blogger as the net there is too slow. However when I return home for Eid(in a weeks time), I might post some videos around here and there. Coverage is always an issue.

Before I terminate my blog I would like to list my new years resolutions:-
  1. I shalt not kill
  2. I will refuse to work even if it means further education.
I guess those are all the resolutions I have. A really small list compared to my todos which are listed in a previous blog article.

Anyways this post almost never wants to end I guess. I keep getting small chores, like burning shaadi CD's, vacuum cleaning, etc. I even went out to get Jalebi in the process. I love a drizzle especially in the winters. Its such a beautiful season. More than that I like playing sports when its drizzling. However I cant stand heavy rain. It makes my head ache.

Oh this is an advertisement I just came across, quite amusing actually:-
Western Union has more Agent locations than McDonald's, Burger King, Wal-Mart, Kmart, Sears and Starbucks combined.

I mean thats true. They have a Western Union Money Transfer at the post office at Topi[land of my institute]. How remote is that.
Oh and a note about how I got into the New Year yesterday night. I was watching lost. I had 5 episodes queued and the third one was running when the clock struck 12. People started lighting firecrackers, I could hear it all. But I chose to stay in my warm blankets and watch Lost. I slept shortly afterwards. That was a really swell way to enter the year 2005 or is it 2006. Yep 2006 it is.
I'd like to thank the folks at Google once again for autosaving drafts. If it werent for them, this post would be lost in the frequent power outages(3 short ones to be honest) that were faced today.

Now I need to get ready for a Reunion Party where I hope to meet some of my old friends from School which was well quite a while back. Man how time flies.
